Police Intensify Surveillance, Checking, and Patrolling to Ensure Public Safety and Maintain Law & Order
Jalandhar News (July 09, 2026): Under the leadership of S. Harvinder Singh Virk, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, and under the supervision of Vineet Ahlawat, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Mukesh Kumar, PPS, Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), and Manjit Kaur, PPS, Superintendent of Police (PBI), Jalandhar Rural Police conducted a district-wide Special Nakabandi and Night Domination operation under the City Surveillance Plan. The operation was carried out to further strengthen security arrangements, maintain strict surveillance over criminal activities, and ensure the effective maintenance of law and order across the district.
During the operation, police teams led by the respective Station House Officers (SHOs) established special nakas at strategic locations, major roads, sensitive areas, and entry and exit points throughout the district. Thorough checking of suspicious persons and vehicles was carried out, while police patrolling was intensified to prevent unlawful activities and maintain a strong security presence.
S. Harvinder Singh Virk, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, along with Vineet Ahlawat, IPS, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Mukesh Kumar, PPS, Superintendent of Police (Headquarters), and Manjit Kaur, PPS, Superintendent of Police (PBI), personally visited various nakas and checkpoints to review the security arrangements and inspect the ongoing operations. The senior officers interacted with the police personnel deployed on duty and directed them to remain vigilant, conduct thorough checking of suspicious persons and vehicles, strictly adhere to security protocols, and deal with the public in a courteous and professional manner.
Night Domination operations were also intensified across the district to strengthen security during nighttime. Police teams conducted continuous patrolling and surveillance in sensitive areas with the objective of preventing crime, deterring anti-social elements, enhancing the sense of safety among the public, and maintaining a peaceful environment throughout the district.
The SSP Jalandhar Rural further stated that regular coordination meetings are being held with various departments and stakeholders to strengthen policing and public safety. Special emphasis is being laid on traffic management in coordination with the Traffic Police, and the directions issued by the Special DGP Traffic are being implemented strictly across all Sub-Divisions under the supervision of the respective DSPs and SHOs.
Reaffirming the commitment of Jalandhar Rural Police towards public safety, S. Harvinder Singh Virk, PPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar Rural, stated that the district police remain fully prepared to tackle all kinds of situations and will continue to conduct Special Nakabandi, Night Domination, and intensive checking operations on a regular basis to ensure a safe, secure, and peaceful environment for all citizens.
