Chandigarh: The Punjab government has ordered a major reshuffle in the Revenue Department, transferring 27 tehsildars and 71 naib tehsildars to different locations across the state.
The administrative exercise affects officers serving in several districts, including Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Sangrur, Moga, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Fazilka and Kapurthala. The new postings have been issued with immediate effect.
Several officers have been assigned responsibilities in key revenue offices, while others have been shifted to strengthen field administration at the district and sub-division levels. A few officials have also been given additional charges alongside their new assignments.
Officials said the transfers are part of a routine administrative exercise aimed at improving efficiency, streamlining revenue-related services and ensuring better public service delivery across Punjab.
The latest reshuffle is expected to bring changes in the functioning of revenue offices in multiple districts and enhance coordination within the department.
