Chandigarh: The Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar met former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh at a hospital in Mohali on Tuesday, triggering fresh political speculation in the state.
Captain Amarinder Singh, who recently underwent knee surgery, was at the hospital for a routine medical check-up.
Sources close to the former chief minister said he is recovering well and no longer requires a walking stick for support.
Jakhar shares update on social media
Posting on X, Jakhar wrote that he met Captain Amarinder Singh during his routine check-up and found him in good spirits.
“He looked cheerful and in high spirits. Wishing him continued good health,” Jakhar said.
Political tensions rising in Punjab
The meeting comes at a time when political tensions between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab have sharply escalated.
Earlier, Jakhar also led a BJP delegation to meet the SSP in Mohali, demanding action against AAP workers allegedly involved in attacks on BJP offices in the district.
