Mumbai: Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh has clarified that he continues to be a part of the much-awaited film Border 2 amid ongoing controversies over his film Sardar Ji 3. The presence of Pakistani actress Haniya Aamir in Sardar Ji 3 and some dialogues in the film had sparked protests on social media, with #BoycottDiljit trending and several industry voices accusing him of taking an “anti-national” stance.
Amid rumours that he had been dropped from Border 2, Diljit shared a behind-the-scenes video from the film’s sets, where he is seen in an Indian Air Force uniform, putting an end to the speculation. In Border 2, Diljit is playing the role of Flying Officer Nirmaljit Singh Sekhon, the only Param Vir Chakra recipient from the Indian Air Force.
The video, which also features the iconic Border song “Sandese Aate Hain,” has been well-received by fans, providing relief to his supporters amid the controversy.
Border 2 is a sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 war film Border and has been eagerly awaited by audiences.
