New Delhi: The Asia Cup 2025 will be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Mohsin Naqvi announced. The tournament will be played in the T20 format.

Naqvi, who also heads the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), shared the update on social media, writing, “I am happy to report that the ACC Asia Cup 2025 will now be officially played in the UAE from 9th to 28th September. It’s going to be a great tournament and we’ll all get to see great cricket.” He added that the full schedule will be released soon.

Although India holds the hosting rights for the 2025 edition, the tournament has been shifted to a neutral venue due to the strained relations between India and Pakistan.

In 2023, Pakistan hosted the Asia Cup. However, India declined to play in Pakistan citing security concerns. As a result, the tournament was held in a hybrid format, with all of India’s matches played in Sri Lanka. India went on to win the title, defeating Sri Lanka in the final.
