Chandigarh: Four pilgrims from Punjab were killed and three others seriously injured in a road accident near Kiodak village in Kaithal on Monday morning.
The incident took place around 8 am when a Haryana Roadways bus from Hisar depot collided head-on with a Punjab-registered pickup vehicle near a Reliance pump on Pehowa Road. The collision was so severe that four of the seven passengers in the pickup died on the spot, while the remaining three sustained serious injuries.
Police said the victims were travelling from Punjab to attend a satsang at Pehowa Gurdwara. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Following the accident, police reached the site, cleared both vehicles from the road and restored traffic movement.
