New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Tuesday confirmed that Gaganpreet Kaur, the main accused in the BMW car accident case, was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Her blood sample tested negative for liquor during medical examination.
Kaur was sent to two-day judicial custody by Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Monday. In her bail application, filed through her lawyer, she claimed that the collision between her BMW and a motorcycle was a “mere accident.”
Her counsel argued that Kaur, a mother of two minor children with no prior criminal record, had also sustained head injuries and therefore did not require custodial interrogation.
The petition, filed under Section 480 of the Indian Civil Defence Code, 2023, sought bail on humanitarian grounds.
