London: The toss for the fifth and final T20 International between India and England at the Rose Bowl, Southampton, was delayed by 45 minutes after the Indian team got caught in heavy traffic while travelling to the stadium.
As a result, the toss, originally scheduled for its usual time, was pushed back to 7:15 pm.
England has already sealed the five-match series with a 3-0 lead. The opening match was washed out due to rain, while the hosts won each of the next three encounters.
India will, however, take confidence from its only previous T20I at the Rose Bowl, where it registered a victory in 2022.
Since winning the T20 World Cup, India has gone six consecutive T20 Internationals without a win and will be hoping to avoid another defeat in the series finale.
England, meanwhile, has the opportunity to strengthen its dominance with another victory and move to the No. 1 spot in the ICC T20I rankings, overtaking India.
Indian captain Shreyas Iyer is still searching for his maiden T20I win as captain despite enjoying an impressive personal series. He has already scored two half-centuries, including an unbeaten 80 off 49 balls in the previous match, although his efforts were not enough to prevent another Indian defeat.
