Special drive aims at expediting collection and digitisation of Enumeration Forms under SIR-2026: DC
Jalandhar News (July 11): In a major initiative to facilitate voters and accelerate the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 exercise, special camps were successfully organised across all 1,926 polling booths in the district on July 11 and 12.
Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Varjeet Walia said that the two-day camps witnessed encouraging participation from voters, who visited their respective polling stations to fill and submit their Enumeration Forms and verify their electoral details. He informed that the special camps were organised to speed up the collection and digitisation of Enumeration Forms as part of the house-to-house enumeration exercise being conducted from June 25 to July 24, 2026. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will remain present at all polling stations from 8 am to 3 pm on both days and assisted electors in completing the process.
Mr. Walia said that special focus was laid on polling booths where the receipt of forms and digitisation work was comparatively low.
The Deputy Commissioner added that extensive awareness campaigns were undertaken through various communication channels to ensure maximum public participation. Recognised political parties were also informed so that their Booth Level Agents (BLAs) could motivate voters to participate in the exercise.
Reiterating the importance of the revision process, Mr. Walia urged all eligible voters who have not yet submitted their Enumeration Forms to do so at the earliest and cooperate with the election machinery to ensure that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls.
