COMMISSIONERATE POLICE JALANDHAR ARREST TWO NOTORIOUS DRUG PEDDLERS WITH 150 GRAMS GANJA AND CATCH 15 OTHERS RED-HANDED WHILE CONSUMING DRUGS

FIRs Registered Against the Accused Under NDPS Act

Jalandhar News (Pawan Dhupar):  As part of an ongoing special campaign to curb drug trafficking and its network, the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar achieved significant success by arresting two notorious drug peddlers with a total of 150 grams of ganja and catching 15 individuals red-handed while consuming drugs during two separate operations.

Giving details, Commissioner of Police, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, IPS, said that continuous operations are being carried out by Jalandhar Police to clamp down on drug traffickers and suppliers. Under this campaign, a special police team was formed under the supervision of ADCP–1 Smt. Akarshi Jain, ACP Central Sh. Amandeep Singh, and other police officers, which arrested two drug peddlers. The arrested accused have been identified as Dhola Ram, son of Ratti Ram, resident of House No. 1172, Bhim Nagar, Qazi Mandi, Jalandhar, and Seema, wife of Sunil, resident of Tandur Wali Gali, Bhim Nagar, Qazi Mandi, Jalandhar.

Police recovered 100 grams of ganja from Dhola Ram’s possession and 50 grams of ganja from Seema’s possession.

An FIR No. 288 dated 06.10.2025 u/s 20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Rama Mandi, Jalandhar against the accused. It was noted that these accused already have 5 previous cases registered under the NDPS Act.

In another operation, a police team from Rama Mandi Police Station, Jalandhar, was on patrolling near Pratap Palace, Laddhewali Chowk, following a tip-off that some youth were consuming drugs at PB08 Restaurant, Laddhewali, and were carrying sharp weapons. Acting immediately, the police reached the spot and arrested 15 individuals red-handed while using drugs. Police also recovered 3 used foils , 2 lighters , 3 grinders , and 2 daggers from their possession.

An FIR No. 289 dated 07.10.2025 u/s 27 NDPS Act and Section 25 Arms Act was registered at Rama Mandi Police Station, Jalandhar, against the accused.

The Commissioner of Police Jalandhar said that no one involved in the drug trade will be spared and that the fight against drugs will continue to make the city drug-free.
