CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday called a cabinet meeting within 24 hours of the Aam Aadmi Party’s victory in the Tarn Taran by-election. While the official agenda of the meeting has not been disclosed, political analysts consider it significant.
The party’s decisive win in Tarn Taran has strengthened CM Mann’s position in both state politics and within the AAP.
Sources said the meeting also discussed preparations for the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, for which CM Mann has invited the President of India along with ambassadors from various countries. The main events are scheduled from November 23 to 25.
The meeting began at 11 pm at the Chief Minister’s residence. Experts suggest that following the electoral victory, the CM may take important decisions regarding administrative reshuffles, strengthening law and order, and expediting development schemes.
