Special religious ceremony organized at Gurdwara Sri Tharra Sahib Dedicated to the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

Sangat urged to adopt Guru Sahib’s teachings in daily life

Jalandhar News: As part of the series of events being organized by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, a special religious program was held today at Gurdwara Sri Tharra Sahib, village Hazara, where the sangat was educated about the great life and unparalleled sacrifice of Guru Sahib Ji.

During the ceremony dedicated to the martyrdom day, the sangat was spiritually uplifted through dhadi varan and kirtan. Jathas of Bhai Karanjeet Singh, Hazoori Ragi Sri Darbar Sahib; Bhai Mahaveer Singh, Hazoori Ragi Sri Darbar Sahib; and Bhai Jagdeep Singh Hazoori Ragi, connected the sangat with the spiritual teachings the Guru Sahib.

The dhadi jatha of Giani Gurjeet Singh Ji Gauree Jangla sang vars related to the martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji and narrated the accounts of the sacrifices of Guru Sahib, Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, after paying obeisance at Gurdwara Sahib, said in his address that the unparalleled sacrifice made by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji for the welfare of humanity is unmatched anywhere in the world.

Urging the sangat to adopt Guru Sahib Ji’s teachings in their lives, he said that the great life and philosophy of Guru Ji continues to serve as a beacon of light for all humanity.

He stated that the Punjab Government is commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on a large scale, and as part of the series of associated events, today’s religious ceremony has been organized at this sacred place blessed by Guru Sahib’s presence. Similarly, among the grand Nagar Kirtans being organized from different locations by the Punjab Government, one Nagar Kirtan will enter Jalandhar on 21 November and depart for Sri Anandpur Sahib on 22 November. He shared that the Nagar Kirtan will halt in Jalandhar on 21 November, and the district administration is making elaborate arrangements for its grand welcome.

On this occasion, Chairman of Punjab State Cooperative Agricultural Development Bank, Pawan Kumar Tinu, highlighted the message of humanity and compassion given by Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. He shared that for the first time, the Punjab Government has taken a unique initiative to offer a grand “Guard of Honor” to the Nagar Kirtan upon its arrival in every district. Inviting the sangat to participate with devotion and respect in the events dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, he said that ceremonies will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib from 23 to 25 November. He stated that these events are not only for Punjab but for the entire nation and humanity, as they hold immense significance as symbols of sacrifice and the protection of human rights.
The stage during the ceremony was conducted by Bhai Bhagwan Singh Johal.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Jasbir Singh, President of the Gurdwara Management Committee Avtar Singh, Satpal Singh Johal, Paramjit Singh Raipur, Lakhvir Singh Hazara, villagers, and a large number of sangat were present at the religious event.
