Iran-US conflict intensifies: Over 300 Americans injured, Saudi base hit by missiles and drones

New Delhi: The ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States has escalated further, with the number of injured American personnel crossing 300, officials said.

In a major development this week, Iran launched an attack on the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia using six ballistic missiles and 29 drones. At least 15 military personnel were injured in the strike, with five reported to be in critical condition. Earlier, US officials had confirmed 10 injuries, including two serious cases, but the figures have since risen.

Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, the US has begun reinforcing its military presence in the region. The US Central Command said a naval vessel carrying around 2,500 Marines has already reached the area. The Pentagon has not yet issued a detailed official statement on the damage and casualties at the Saudi base.

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a phone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, discussing the evolving situation in the Middle East. Modi strongly condemned attacks on energy installations and stressed the need to maintain peace and stability in the region.

Separately, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian for nearly an hour, with both leaders discussing ways to restore peace. Sharif also condemned Israeli strikes on Iran and expressed solidarity with Tehran.

The conflict between the US and Israel on one side and Iran on the other has now entered its second month. US President Donald Trump has outlined key objectives for ending the war but has recently sign that operations could conclude soon, even if some goals remain unmet.
