Cycling Association of Punjab aims to take cycling in Punjab to greater heights: Jagdeep Singh Kahlon

ASMITA Khelo India Women City League and Cycle Rally organized in Kapurthala on the occasion of World Bicycle Day

Kapurthala News (June 14): Jagdeep Singh Kahlon, General Secretary of the Cycling Association of Punjab, said that on the occasion of World Bicycle Day, the ASMITA Khelo India Women City League and a grand cycle rally were organized with great enthusiasm and spirit at Guru Nanak Stadium.

He said that the aim of the Cycling Association of Punjab is to take cycling in Punjab to new heights. The main objective of the event was to encourage women to take up cycling as a sport, inspire them towards sports, and promote a healthy lifestyle.

He further informed that women cyclists from different age groups participated in the event and showcased their talent, determination, and skills. He added that the competitions witnessed exciting and closely contested races in every category. The cycle rally also saw participation from boys, girls, women, and men of all age groups.

In the Elite Category, Asha secured first place, Loveleen Kaur finished second, and Aasimi claimed third place.

In the Junior Category, Tanveer Kaur secured first place, Aaradhya finished second, and Aanaya secured third place.

Similarly, in the Sub-Junior Category, Seeratjot secured first place, Muskan finished second, and Harroop Kaur claimed third place.

Jagdeep Singh Kahlon said that the main purpose of the ASMITA Khelo India Women League is to encourage women to participate in sports in larger numbers and provide them with a strong competitive platform. He added that cycling is not just a sport but also an important means of promoting a healthy lifestyle, environmental conservation, and social awareness.

He further stated that the association will organize more large-scale tournaments, training camps, and awareness campaigns in the future to take cycling in Punjab to even greater heights.

The event was successfully organized under the leadership of Mandeep Singh Walia (AS Food), Pankaj Thakur (Gredie.com), and the organizing committee of Kapurthala Cycling Association, led by Chairman Aakash Kapoor and Convener Navdeep Singh.

Jagdeep Singh Kahlon also extended special thanks to the Cycling Federation of India President Pankaj Singh, Chairman Onkar Singh, Secretary General Maninderpal Singh, and Charanjit Singh, President of the Cycling Association of Punjab, for bringing this important event to Punjab.

He also thanked the district administration of Kapurthala, saying that the success of the event would not have been possible without their support.

Special support in making the event successful was also provided by Navdeep Singh Film and his entire team.

On this occasion, Jaskamal Kaur, Sharan, Honey Kumar, Dilraj, sports enthusiasts, coaches, and a large number of players were also present.

At the conclusion of the event, the winning players were honored with medals and mementos. Congratulating all the winners, Jagdeep Singh Kahlon said that the event proved to be an important step towards women’s empowerment and strengthening the sports culture in Punjab.
