Mohali: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a major roadshow in Mohali on Sunday to celebrate its victory in the Mohali Municipal Corporation.

The roadshow began at around 6 pm near Sohana village in Sector 78 and was led by AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, MP Malvinder Singh Kang, senior leader Manish Sisodia, Punjab minister Aman Arora, MLA Kulwant Singh and Mohali Mayor Sarabjit Singh.

The rally proceeded through the circular road surrounding Sohana village, where extensive arrangements had been made for the event. Authorities carried out road repairs and cleanliness drives ahead of the programme, while the area was decorated with AAP flags, banners and welcome gates.

A large number of party workers and supporters participated in the roadshow. Residents, shopkeepers and business owners along the route were seen welcoming the leaders, with many displaying party flags from their homes and commercial establishments.

Meanwhile, some local residents alleged that Wi-Fi cables passing through parts of the route were cut or shifted ahead of the event to facilitate the movement of the rally. No official statement has been issued regarding the allegations.

The roadshow is being viewed as a show of strength by the ruling party following its success in the Mohali civic body elections and comes amid increasing political activity ahead of future electoral contests in Punjab.
