Malerkotla: The Malerkotla district administration has declared a public holiday on June 26 in view of Muharram. According to an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner (DC), all government offices and private schools in the district will remain closed on the day.
However, the administration clarified that the holiday order will not apply to schools and colleges where board or university examinations are scheduled. Such institutions will continue to function as per the examination schedule.
The decision has been taken to facilitate the observance of Muharram, an important occasion for the Muslim community.
