Pune: Social media posts shared by 20-year-old Siya Goyal and her fiancé Ketan Agrawal have come under the spotlight following the sensational murder case in which Siya and her alleged boyfriend Chetan Choudhary have been arrested.
Ketan Agrawal, 26, son of a prominent Pune-based real estate businessman, was allegedly pushed into a 350-foot-deep gorge near Lohagad Fort on June 18, just months before his scheduled wedding with Siya in November.
Investigators said the couple’s social media profiles portrayed what appeared to be a happy and affectionate relationship. The accounts featured photographs and videos of romantic moments, including proposal celebrations, dance clips, flower gifts and family events related to their upcoming wedding.
Following their engagement in February this year, Siya had shared a photograph of a cake on Instagram and wrote, “One month since my heart found its home,” while tagging Ketan in the post.
Police said the investigation gained momentum after officers identified a suspicious young man wearing a hoodie despite the 33-degree Celsius temperature at Lohagad Fort on the day of the incident. The clue eventually led investigators to Chetan Choudhary, 22, and subsequently to Siya, resulting in their arrest on murder charges.
Several social media posts have since gone viral. In one video, Ketan is seen surprising Siya with a car decorated with flowers. Sharing the clip, Siya had written, “He took my ‘I like this’ comment very seriously,” with the song Pasand Hai Tumhein playing in the background.
In another Instagram story, she shared Ketan’s photograph with the caption, “That smile.”
According to reports, Ketan had begun celebrating Siya’s birthday a month in advance. Her birthday was on June 19, and he reportedly surprised her daily with gifts and gestures, many of which were documented on social media.
A day after Ketan’s death, Siya allegedly posted an emotional message on Instagram, writing, “Ketan, you left me alone on my birthday. Please come back.”
Police are continuing their investigation into the case, which has drawn comparisons on social media to other high-profile murder cases involving alleged conspiracies between partners and their lovers.
