Chandigarh: Jagmandeep Singh alias Jagman Samra, the Canada-based individual at the centre of the controversy surrounding the alleged video of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has made fresh claims, alleging that the controversial videos were shared with him by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.
In the third part of a series of videos posted on social media, lasting nearly five minutes, Samra claimed that Maliwal shared the video with him after she was allegedly assaulted and humiliated by the security staff of AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
Samra further alleged that the video was shot inside a hotel room booked in the name of a person identified as “Jarnail Singh”. However, he said he had no knowledge of who recorded the video, who created it or whose phone it was stored on. Challenging the allegations against him, Samra said authorities were free to search his house if they wished.
Earlier, Samra rejected Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s claim that a prosthetic face mask resembling him had been used in the video. In a 47-second video shared by senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia, Samra said no one had ever delivered such a mask to him and that he had never made any payment for it.
“If they know someone who delivered the mask and received payment from me, they should bring that person before me,” Samra said. He also questioned why a “fake” forensic report would have been needed if the video was fabricated.
In another video shared by Congress leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira, Samra claimed that more controversial videos, including one allegedly showing a parody of a Sikh prayer by the Chief Minister, would be released in the coming days.
The latest claims come amid an ongoing political row over the alleged video. The allegations made by Samra have not been independently verified, and no official response from Swati Maliwal has been issued regarding his latest claims.
