Chandigarh: Canada-based Jagmandeep Samra has challenged Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s claim that the controversial video linked to him was created using a “hyper-realistic face mask”, escalating the ongoing political controversy.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Samra shared what he described as an official letter issued by Canadian digital forensics firm Docufraud Canada, writing, “Here is the lab. Let the Punjab government challenge this one.”
According to the letter, dated January 15, 2026 (File Reference No. 2640), the firm’s head, Dwayne Wm. Strocen, stated that an advanced technical examination of the three disputed videos found no evidence of artificial intelligence (AI), face-swapping, video synthesis tools, or any other form of digital manipulation. The document further claims that the videos appear to be original camera sensor outputs.
However, the letter also clarifies that it is only a Record of Communication and not a notarised forensic report admissible for court proceedings.

The development comes days after Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann alleged during a press conference that Samra had arranged a fake facial mask resembling him and used another individual to record the video in a hotel in Canada.
With Samra now releasing the Canadian lab communication, fresh questions are being raised over the Punjab Police’s purported forensic findings. No official response has yet been issued by the Punjab government or Punjab Police regarding the latest document shared by Samra.
