Faridkot: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Sunday said his government has fulfilled almost all the promises made to the people and is working on a priority basis to resolve every issue concerning the state.
Addressing a public outreach programme at Chand Baja village in Faridkot district, Mann said the government is committed to completing the remaining promises made before the Assembly elections. Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan and Faridkot MLA Gurdit Singh Sekhon were also present on the occasion.
After inaugurating more than 500 rural gyms for youth across villages, the Chief Minister said his government is focused on improving public welfare and strengthening rural infrastructure.
Targeting opposition parties, Mann alleged that leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal and the Congress had failed to resolve Punjab’s long-pending issues and instead used them for political gains. He claimed the Akali Dal had repeatedly exploited religion for politics rather than safeguarding Punjab’s interests.
The Chief Minister also said that nearly 80% of Punjab’s agricultural land is now receiving canal water. He added that the increased supply of canal water has brought significant relief to farmers, especially in the Malwa region where groundwater is saline.
During his second public outreach programme in Faridkot within a week, Mann said he would continue visiting towns and villages across Punjab to present his government’s work before the people. He added that the state has adequate funds for development projects and that grants are being distributed to villages and urban areas based on their needs.
