Amritsar: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia on Tuesday expressed gratitude after obtaining bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court and said the development was possible due to the blessings of the Almighty.
In a message shared on social media, Majithia thanked his supporters and well-wishers and said he remained committed to standing up for truth and justice.
The former Punjab minister said he would continue to raise his voice on issues concerning public interest and vowed to keep fighting for what he described as the cause of justice.
Majithia also took an indirect swipe at the Punjab government while reacting to recent political developments in the state. Referring to the court’s decision in his favour, he suggested that those targeting him had suffered a setback.
In a strongly worded remark, he declared that he remained politically active and determined despite the challenges he had faced.
The Akali leader concluded his message with a traditional Sikh greeting and thanked supporters for their continued faith and encouragement.
The High Court’s decision granting bail to Majithia has triggered fresh political reactions, with leaders from different parties offering their responses to the development.
