In its anti-drug drive, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Ludhiana Range achieved a major success when they arrested three alleged drug smugglers and recovered 512 grams of heroin from them during a tip-off during a roadblock. The police have also seized a black Thar vehicle being used for smuggling.
A trap laid based on intelligence information
Sharing information about the case, Sub-Inspector Pankaj Bhagat said that the department had received a strong confidential information that some people travelling in a black Mahindra Thar vehicle near Raiya town of Amritsar district were going to supply a large consignment of heroin. As the information was reliable, the police immediately made a special blockade. Meanwhile, when the suspicious Thar vehicle was stopped and searched, 512 grams of heroin was recovered from it, after which the three accused travelling in the vehicle were taken into custody.
