Married woman’s husband and brother kill her lover in Faridkot

Faridkot: A 26-year-old man was allegedly murdered after being called to a married woman’s house in Punjab’s Faridkot district. According to the victim’s family, the woman, her husband and her brother allegedly tied up the man before killing him with an axe.

The deceased has been identified as Arshdeep Singh (26), a resident of Dhara Singh Colony in Faridkot and originally from Hasanbhatti village.

According to his father, Harnek Singh, a head constable with the Punjab Police Commando Battalion posted in Chandigarh, Arshdeep had been under stress for the past few days.

Harnek Singh alleged that his son had told the family that Harpreet Kaur, a married woman from Pipli village, had been pressuring him to continue a relationship with her. He said the family had planned to approach the woman’s parents and resolve the matter through a village panchayat.

On Sunday, when Arshdeep could not be found, the family began searching for him. Growing suspicious, they went to Harpreet Kaur’s house in Pipli village, where they allegedly found his body.

The family has alleged that Arshdeep was called to the house by the woman, after which she, her husband and her brother tied his hands, legs and mouth before allegedly attacking him with an axe, resulting in his death.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining the allegations. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
