New Delhi: Fuel prices in India have gone up once again, with petrol and diesel becoming costlier by Rs 3 per litre from May 15.
In Delhi, petrol will now cost Rs 97.77 per litre, while diesel prices have increased to Rs 90.67 per litre.
This marks the first major increase in fuel prices in nearly two years.
CNG prices also revised upward
Along with petrol and diesel, CNG prices have also been increased by up to Rs 2 per kilogram in major cities.
In Delhi, consumers will now have to pay Rs 79.09 per kg for CNG.
Oil companies still facing losses
According to reports, oil marketing companies are still facing losses of around Rs 25 to Rs 30 per litre on petrol and diesel sales despite the latest hike.
The increase comes amid rising global crude oil prices and continued pressure on fuel supply chains due to the ongoing West Asia crisis.
