Evian, France: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Evian, France, on Tuesday to participate in the G7 Summit, where he joined a meeting of leaders from G7 member nations and invited partner countries.
On the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Modi met US President Donald Trump, marking their first in-person interaction in 16 months. The two leaders were seen seated together and held a brief discussion lasting around five minutes.
The meeting comes after their previous interaction at the White House in February 2025 and is being viewed as an important engagement amid ongoing discussions on economic and strategic issues between the two countries.
According to reports, Modi and Trump are also expected to hold further talks later in the day, focusing on trade-related matters. Discussions may cover a proposed India-US trade agreement, tariff issues, investment opportunities and ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations.
