Chandigarh: Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi has taken suo motu notice of a viral video allegedly featuring Amrinder Singh Raja Warring over the use of alleged casteist remarks during an election campaign.
Sharing details of the matter, Jasvir Singh Garhi said the issue was brought to the Commission’s notice by Punjab Cabinet Minister Baljit Kaur. According to the complaint, Raja Warring allegedly used objectionable caste-related words against Dalit communities while campaigning during elections.
Taking serious note of the matter, the Commission has sought a detailed report from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Sri Muktsar Sahib, through the SP of the district by May 29, 2026.
The Commission has also directed the police administration to collect voice samples of Raja Warring and conduct a forensic examination of the viral video to verify its authenticity and establish factual details before submitting the report.
The development has triggered fresh political controversy in Punjab, with the issue likely to intensify amid the ongoing political atmosphere in the state.
