Reflect Zero Tolerance Policy of Punjab Government against Corruption
Chandigarh News (28 June 2026): The Vigilance Bureau, during its campaign against corruption and zero tolerance policy adopted by Punjab government, has registered total 1055 cases from 16-03-2022 to 31-05-2026 in which 1111 accused were arrested. In addition to this, total 296 vigilance enquiries were registered during this period and the competent courts have convicted 236 accused in 149 corruption cases.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of Punjab Vigilance Bureau said that 610 accused were arrested in 503 trap cases during the aforementioned period. Similarly, 485 accused were arrested in 521 criminal cases and 16 persons were arrested in 31 disproportionate assets cases during the aforesaid period.
He further informed that 116 vigilance enquiries were registered in connection with disproportionate assets and 180 other vigilance enquiries were also registered during the above said period.
