Dhar: A teacher at a government primary school in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district has been suspended after allegedly arriving at school in an inebriated state and misbehaving with staff and labourers.
The incident occurred on June 23 at a school in Singhana village, located in the Manawar development block, around 50 km from the district headquarters.
A video capturing the teacher’s behaviour went viral on social media, prompting swift action from the district administration. Officials confirmed on Wednesday that a departmental inquiry has been initiated.
Narottam Varkade, Assistant Commissioner of the Tribal Education Department, said the teacher has been suspended and further investigation is underway.
“There is an integrated school complex in Manawar block, where the teacher arrived in an intoxicated condition and misbehaved with those working there,” he said.
Following the incident, senior district officials ordered Block Resource Coordinator (BRC) Kishore Kumar to conduct a detailed inquiry. A joint team comprising the block education officer and BRC has been formed to probe the matter and recommend further action.
