New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that no country in the world asked India to stop or restrain its actions during Operation Sindoor. Speaking in the Lok Sabha for one hour and 40 minutes, PM Modi underlined that India acted independently in its national interest and security.

“During Operation Sindoor, no country in the world has stopped India from taking action in its security,” he said. The Prime Minister pointed out that out of 193 member nations of the United Nations, only three had issued statements supporting Pakistan during the operation.

His remarks appeared to be a response to US President Donald Trump, who has claimed 26 times that he negotiated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan.

Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi delivered a 36-minute speech in the House. “If you have the guts, let the Prime Minister say here in the House that he (Trump) is lying,” Rahul said.

The Lok Sabha has seen over 16 hours of debate on Operation Sindoor so far.
