Chandigarh: A special Enforcement Directorate (ED) court in Mohali has declared Harpreet Singh, son of former Punjab forest minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, a proclaimed offender in a 2024 case registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The court has also sought details of Harpreet Singh’s properties to initiate attachment proceedings under Section 83 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
According to court records, an advertisement declaring Harpreet Singh a fugitive was issued on March 28, 2025. However, he failed to appear before the court within the stipulated 30-day period. “Necessary information should be given to the concerned police station,” the court directed.
At present, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot is out on bail in the same case.
To ensure legal compliance, a copy of the proclamation notice was pasted at Harpreet Singh’s residence in Ward No. 6, Annian Road, Amloh, Fatehgarh Sahib. Two additional copies were displayed—one in a public place and another on the notice board of the Mohali court.
The court has adjourned the matter till August 19 to consider framing of charges.
