Chandigarh: The AAP government in Punjab has reshuffled its cabinet, taking away the power department from minister Harbhajan Singh ETO. He will now be in charge of only the Public Works Department (PWD).
The electricity department has been handed over to Ludhiana West MLA Sanjeev Arora. Until now, Arora was handling the departments of Industry, Investment Promotion, and NRI Affairs. With the new responsibility, he will oversee four key departments.
The reshuffle comes at a time when the state government has been making tall claims about addressing power cuts, but the problem of electricity supply remains unresolved.
