Chandigarh: Infosys Ltd will set up a new campus in Mohali at a cost of Rs 300 crore under Mission Investment in Punjab, Industries Minister Sanjeev Arora announced on Thursday. The project will be spread over 31 acres, with the first phase covering a built-up area of three lakh square yards.
Speaking at Punjab Bhavan, Arora said the government aims to create quality employment opportunities for the state’s youth, and the upcoming project is part of that effort.
According to the minister, the first phase of the campus will generate 2,500 high-paying jobs and 210 indirect employment opportunities. He added that subsequent phases of expansion will be taken up by the company after the initial phase is completed.
Company representatives present at the meeting said the state’s simplified policies had encouraged their decision to invest in Punjab.
