School principal, cab driver arrested in Panipat for hanging child upside down

Panipat: A seven-year-old boy was allegedly beaten and hung upside down from a window at a private school in Panipat, leading to the arrest of the school principal and a cab driver.

The incident, which occurred on August 13 at Srijan Public School in Viratnagar, came to light on Saturday after a video of the assault went viral on social media. The boy’s parents, shocked by the footage, lodged a complaint with Model Town police.

Police said the cab driver, identified as Ajay, tied the child’s legs with a rope, hung him from the window, slapped him, recorded the video, and shared it online. Another video also surfaced showing Principal Reena slapping two students in front of their classmates.

The education department immediately issued a notice to the school and ordered its closure. A case has been registered against Ajay, and police have launched further investigation.

The boy’s mother said her son, a second-class student, had admitted to her that “Ajay uncle” assaulted him in school. Family members said they were stunned to see the disturbing video.
