Lok Sabha MP from Hoshiarpur meets family of Y Puran Kumar
Punjab E News:Â Lok Sabha MP Dr Raj Kumar Chabbewal on Monday sought the immediate arrest of the blue eyed officers of the Haryana government who were named by IPS officer Y Puran Kumar in his suicide note.
The MP, who called on the family of deceased IPS officer here today, said that it is unfortunate that the decorated officer was forced to commit suicide by these officers who have the blessings of Haryana government. He said that instead of shielding these officers the Haryana government should immediately arrest them to ensure justice to the family of the deceased. Dr Chabbewal said that it is unfortunate that the top bureaucrat with impeccable integrity had to give his life just because he belonged to a family from weaker and underprivileged section.
Expressing concern over the rising atrocities against the Schedule castes in the country, the Lok Sabha MP said that the manner in which a senior officer is forced to commit suicide or a person tries to hurl shoes at Chief Justice of India reflects the sorry state of affairs in the country. He said that a special session of the Parliament must be convened to discuss this alarming situation which poses a major threat to the Parliamentary democracy. Dr Chabbewal said that this sort of high handedness against the Schedule castes brethren is totally unwarranted and unacceptable.
The Lok Sabha MP categorically said that it is shameful that some senior bureaucrats are issuing threats to the family of Y Puran Kumar adding that this will not be tolerated. He said that the entire weaker and underprivileged section of the country stands in solidarity with the family of Y Puran Kumar in this hour of crisis. Dr Chabbewal said that the fight for justice for late Y Puran Kumar will continue till the perpetrators of this heinous crime are not put behind the bars.
