SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police has busted an inter-state and international terror module linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), arresting seven persons, including two doctors.

The operation, carried out jointly by the Faridabad Police and Jammu and Kashmir Police, led to the recovery of 2,900 kg of IED-making material, arms and ammunition. One of the arrested doctors is from Faridabad, officials said.

“In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has busted an inter-state and international terrorist module linked to proscribed terror outfits JeM and AGuH,” a police spokesperson said. The operation resulted in the arrest of key operatives and recovery of a large cache of arms, ammunition and explosives during coordinated searches in Jammu and Kashmir and other states, the spokesperson added.

Earlier, on October 19, posters of JeM were found in Srinagar’s Bunpora Nowgam area, threatening police and security forces. Following this, a case was registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Explosive Substances Act and Arms Act at Nowgam police station. An investigation is underway.
