PM Modi meets President Putin, calls for dialogue and peaceful resolution to Russia-Ukraine conflict

New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister PM Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin today and urged a peaceful end to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. During the meeting, PM Modi said India is not neutral but firmly in favour of peace, adding that the dispute should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy.

PM Modi said he wanted to see a “peaceful solution” and stressed the importance of global stability. “There is a need for peace across the world,” he said, while noting his long association with President Putin.

Modi said he has known Putin for 25 years, and described the friendship between India and Russia as an example of strong bilateral ties. He added that relations between the two countries have grown stronger under Putin’s leadership.

On his part, President Putin said that Russia is also working toward a peaceful resolution of the conflict, signalling readiness for diplomatic engagement.
