President accepts Bengal Governor’s resignation, announces major reshuffle of Governors and LGs

New Delhi: The President of India Droupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation of C. V. Ananda Bose as the Governor of West Bengal, according to an official statement.

Along with accepting the resignation, the President approved a major reshuffle involving several Governors and Lieutenant Governors across the country.

As part of the changes, Shiv Pratap Shukla, currently Governor of Himachal Pradesh, has been appointed as the new Governor of Telangana. Jishnu Dev Varma, who was serving as Governor of Telangana, will now take charge as Governor of Maharashtra.

Nand Kishore Yadav has been appointed as Governor of Nagaland, while retired Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain has been named the new Governor of Bihar.

Meanwhile, R. N. Ravi, currently Governor of Tamil Nadu, has been appointed as the Governor of West Bengal. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Governor of Kerala, will discharge the functions of the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

In other changes, Kavinder Gupta, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, has been appointed as Governor of Himachal Pradesh. Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.

Former Indian diplomat Taranjit Singh Sandhu has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.

The appointments will take effect from the dates the respective officials assume charge of their offices.
