Clash erupts between AAP, BJP workers at Delhi fire victims’ condolence meet

New Delhi: A scuffle broke out between workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a condolence meeting for victims of the Delhi fire tragedy that claimed nine lives.

Videos of the incident, now circulating on social media, show people throwing chairs and engaging in a heated physical altercation. AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that supporters of BJP MLA Kuldeep Solanki attacked him and threw a chair in his direction.

Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the BJP of showing no concern for the victims, claiming that party workers were preventing others from meeting affected families.

The clash occurred during a condolence gathering held after a devastating fire in Delhi’s Palam area on Wednesday. The blaze engulfed a four-storey building, killing nine people, including three minor girls.

Tensions escalated after Bharadwaj showed a video allegedly highlighting failure of hydraulic equipment during the rescue operation and questioned the administration’s response. This led to a heated argument between members of both parties, which soon turned into verbal abuse and physical pushing.

The altercation disrupted the solemn atmosphere of the condolence meet, drawing criticism over political confrontations at a time of mourning.
