New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, where he was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
According to reports, fighter jets of the UAE Air Force escorted the Prime Minister’s aircraft upon arrival.
PM Modi later held bilateral talks with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which both sides discussed strengthening cooperation in key sectors including energy security, trade, investment and regional stability in West Asia.
Key agreements signed
India and the UAE signed several important agreements, including a major pact related to LPG supply.
Both countries also exchanged Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) on strategic petroleum reserves, defence cooperation and the development of a ship repair cluster at Vadinar.
UAE announces $5 billion investment
The UAE also announced an investment of $5 billion in Indian infrastructure projects, RBL Bank and Sammaan Capital.
According to India’s Ministry of External Affairs, the two leaders also reviewed the overall strategic partnership and exchanged views on the evolving situation in West Asia.
