PANIPAT: The strike by Haryana Roadways employees in Fatehabad ended on the third night following a prolonged meeting between employee leaders and district administration officials.
The meeting, which continued until late evening, was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mandeep Kaur, Roadways General Manager Ajay Dalal, and members of the Roadways Sanjha Morcha.
Officials informed the union leaders that seven people have been arrested in connection with the assault on a bus conductor, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining two accused. After receiving this assurance, roadways leaders announced an end to the strike.
“All buses will resume operations from Friday on all routes,” said roadways employee leader Jagdeep Lathar. He confirmed that the strike had been called off.
Meanwhile, in Panipat’s Sector 29, a speeding Haryana Roadways bus collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of one youth and serious injuries to his friend.
Following the incident, an agitated crowd at the spot reportedly assaulted the bus driver. A video of the incident is circulating on social media.
