New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday announced the suspension of USA Cricket’s membership with immediate effect.
The ICC said the decision followed “a thorough review of the cases over the last one year and extensive engagement with key stakeholders.”
In a statement, the global governing body accused USA Cricket of “repeatedly and persistently” violating its obligations as a member of the ICC.
The suspension comes as the Los Angeles Games prepare for the return of cricket to the Olympic calendar in 2028. However, the ICC confirmed that USA’s national teams will still be allowed to participate in its competitions in the lead-up to the event.
