Preparations for 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in Full Swing: Tarunpreet Singh Sond

Cabinet Minister Sond and Advisor Deepak Bali review arrangements in Patiala; State-level celebrations to be observed with full devotion

Patiala News:  Preparations are underway on a war footing for the state-level events dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of the ninth Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, will celebrate this historic occasion with full faith and devotion. This was stated by Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond during his visit to Patiala on Monday to review the arrangements for the upcoming Dharmik Yatra and other commemorative events.

The Cabinet Minister handed over the official logo of the 350th anniversary celebrations issued by the Punjab Government to Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav.
MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli, Tourism Department Advisor Deepak Bali, PRTC Chairman Ranjodh Singh Hadana, and Tourism Department Director Sanjeev Tiwari were also present on the occasion.

Minister Sond informed that a special Nagar Kirtan in the form of a Dharmik Yatra will reach Patiala on November 21, and directed that all meat, liquor, and tobacco shops remain closed along the Nagar Kirtan route. He further instructed that all roads along the route be thoroughly cleaned in advance.

The Minister shared that a series of events dedicated to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji will begin on October 25 and continue till November 25. The Punjab Government, he said, will celebrate the sacrifices of Guru Sahib and his devoted companions—Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, Bhai Dayala Ji, Bhai Jaita Ji, and Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara Ji; with full religious dignity and in accordance with Gurmat Maryada.

During the review meeting, Cabinet Minister Sond and Advisor Deepak Bali closely examined the preparations being made by the district administration and issued necessary directions to ensure flawless arrangements. Bali said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji will lead the Nagar Kirtan, and heads and saints of various sects will participate with devotion.

He added that invitation letters are being personally delivered to Chief Ministers of all states, Union Ministers, ambassadors of foreign nations, and prominent leaders of all religions to join the celebrations. “Yatras from four different regions will converge at Sri Anandpur Sahib, with the Malwa-II Yatra starting from Bathinda on November 20 and reaching Patiala on November 21, where it will receive a grand guard of honour and be welcomed by the Sangat at multiple locations,” Bali said.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav presented an outline of the programs to be held in Patiala and assured strict compliance with all instructions issued during the review meeting.

Also present were Dr. Paramveer Singh and Dr. Sukhwinder Singh (Sikh scholars), Municipal Commissioner Paramveer Singh, ADCs Damanjit Singh Mann, Simarpreet Kaur, and Navreet Kaur Sekhon, SP Palwinder Singh Cheema, SDMs, and officers from various departments.
