Light and Sound show will connect youngsters with our rich legacy: Deepak Bali
Jalandhar News: As part of a series of events organized by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, a grand Light and Sound Show was held this evening at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar, which witnessed the participation of over 15,000 devotees.
The event, organized by the Punjab Government, honored the life, teachings, and unparalleled sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, who laid down his life for the protection of humanity and religious freedom.

During the show, the life and philosophy of “Hind Di Chadar” Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji were beautifully portrayed through a digital presentation. Prior to this, Dhadi Jatha Didar Singh Sangatpura (Phagwara) performed traditional vars.
Punjab Horticulture, Freedom Fighters, and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat and Advisor to the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Deepak Bali were present as chief guests. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal and Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur also attended the occasion.
Addressing the large gathering, Minister Mohinder Bhagat urged the people to draw inspiration from Guru Sahib’s teachings, which, even after 350 years, continue to illuminate humanity. He said that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s supreme sacrifice was not for any single religion or sect but for the fundamental rights and dignity of all humankind.
He added that the Punjab Government has launched a series of events to spread Guru Sahib’s message of truth, sacrifice, and religious freedom worldwide. Light and Sound shows based on Guru Sahib’s life and martyrdom are being organized across all districts, beginning today from Jalandhar, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Pathankot.
As part of the celebrations, four Nagar Kirtans will also be held from different parts of the country — one from Gurdwara Chevin Patshahi, Srinagar (Jammu & Kashmir) on November 19, and three others from Faridkot, Bathinda, and Gurdaspur. All four processions will reach Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22, where grand commemorative events will be held from November 23 to 25. Mr. Bhagat appealed to devotees to participate in large numbers.
The Nagar Kirtan from Gurdaspur will enter Jalandhar on November 21, halt there briefly, and then proceed toward Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Advisor Deepak Bali said the Punjab Government is ensuring that Guru Sahib’s philosophy and supreme sacrifice reach every corner of the country, inspiring future generations. He stated that the use of digital technology in the Light and Sound show will connect especially the youth with Guru Sahib’s message of peace, tolerance, and universal brotherhood, while strengthening their bond with Punjab’s rich heritage.
Mr. Bali emphasized that these commemorations are not just for Punjab but for the entire nation and humanity, symbolizing the defense of human rights and the spirit of sacrifice. He also announced that the Nagar Kirtans will be accorded a Guard of Honour in every district they pass through.
The main commemorative programs at Sri Anandpur Sahib will be held from November 23 to 25. The events will commence with Akhand Path Sahib on November 23, followed by an All-Faith Conference, a heritage exhibition at Virasat-e-Khalsa, a first-ever drone show depicting Guru Sahib’s life and sacrifice at 5 p.m., and a Kirtan Darbar at 6 p.m. The day will conclude with “Flame of Martyrdom”, lighting up the holy city with torches.
On November 24, a Nagar Kirtan titled “Sees Bhet” will start from Sri Kiratpur Sahib and reach Sri Anandpur Sahib. For the first time in history, the Punjab Vidhan Sabha will hold a special session at the Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial, from 12 noon to 4 p.m., to pay tribute to the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib.
On November 25, after the conclusion of the Akhand Path Sahib, renowned kirtan jathas will perform devotional hymns from Guru Sahib’s Bani.
A three-day drone show featuring 500 drones will also be held at Virasat-e-Khalsa, Sri Anandpur Sahib, making it North India’s first-ever drone tribute to the Guru Sahib.
Appealing to the devotees for their wholehearted participation, officials assured that all these events will be conducted with full decorum and reverence.
Among those present on the occasion were Mayor Vineet Dhir, Chairman of Punjab State Cooperative Agricultural Development Bank Pawan Kumar Tinu, AAP leader Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Harpreet Kaur (wife of MLA Balkaur Singh, Kartarpur), and a large number of youth, students, and devotees.
