Delhi air quality remains severe despite GRAP-IV, average AQI at 461

New Delhi: Air quality in the national capital remained in the severe category on Sunday morning despite the implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-IV across Delhi and the NCR.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the average Air Quality Index (AQI) at 7 am stood at 461. Several parts of the city witnessed dense fog, including Ghazipur, ITO and Anand Vihar, where visibility remained very low.

CPCB data showed that air quality continued to be recorded as severe in many areas. Bawana reported the highest AQI at 497, followed by Narela at 492 and Okhla Phase II at 474. NSIT Dwarka recorded the lowest AQI in the city at 411, which also falls under the severe category.

Authorities said restrictions under GRAP-IV remain in force as pollution levels continue to pose a serious health risk.
