Surrey: Canadian authorities have deported a 22-year-old Punjabi youth, Lovebir Singh, over alleged involvement in extortion-related criminal activities.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) released his photograph and appealed to the public to share information about his associates and activities during his stay in Canada.
Police said Lovebir arrived in Canada in 2023 as a foreign national. In early 2026, he was identified as a key suspect in multiple extortion cases. Following an immigration investigation by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), authorities initiated deportation proceedings, resulting in his removal from the country.
SPS officials stated that making his image public could encourage additional victims or witnesses to come forward, potentially helping dismantle violent extortion networks operating in the region.
Notably, under the Surrey Extortion Reward Fund established in September 2025, authorities may offer rewards of up to 250,000 Canadian dollars for information leading to convictions in extortion cases. Investigations into linked networks are ongoing.
