Chandigarh: A 27-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside his house in the Adarsh Nagar area of Guruhar Sahai in Punjab’s Ferozepur district on Monday.
After receiving information, local police reached the spot, took possession of the body and launched an investigation. According to police, the deceased was living alone in the house.
The deceased has been identified as Raghu (27). Police said his parents had died earlier, while his sister lives elsewhere. His family has been informed, and further legal action will be taken after recording their statements.
Station House Sub-Inspector Davinder Singh Garcha said the police received information about a body lying inside a house in Adarsh Nagar and immediately reached the scene.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Raghu was addicted to drugs and had been living alone after the death of his parents. Police suspect he died due to a drug overdose, though the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination and completion of the investigation.
Police said all angles are being examined before reaching a final conclusion.
