Patiala: Two unidentified masked men opened fire inside a property dealer’s office in broad daylight in Rajpura town of Punjab’s Patiala district on Friday before fleeing the scene, triggering panic in the area.
The incident took place at Laxmi Property Office on Underbridge Road. According to preliminary information, the attackers had been surveying the area since morning. One of the accused remained outside on a motorcycle while the other entered the office.
The gunmen allegedly asked about Ramesh Pahuja, owner of Laxmi Property and president of the Rajpura Traders’ Association. Pahuja was not present at the office at the time of the incident.
After failing to find him, the attackers fired around eight rounds inside the office and fled the spot.
Following the incident, teams from the CIA Patiala, CIA Rajpura, and the City Police Station rushed to the scene and began an investigation.
Police have started examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the firing. No injuries have been reported so far.
