Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) senior leader and former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia has raised questions over the forensic examination reports related to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s controversial video. In a video message shared on social media, Majithia alleged that senior Punjab Police officers paid lakhs of rupees to a forensic laboratory in Gurugram to obtain a favourable report.
Majithia claimed that senior police officials held meetings with representatives of the forensic laboratory at a hotel before the reports were prepared. He alleged that money changed hands following these meetings and demanded a transparent probe into the matter.
The SAD leader also appealed to the Central Government and the Haryana Government to ensure the safety and security of what he described as a key witness in the case. He expressed concern about the witness’s well-being and called for adequate protection measures.
Targeting the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Majithia alleged that the party was carrying out a misinformation campaign against Sri Akal Takht Sahib and its Jathedar. He said such actions were unacceptable and warned that attempts to undermine the authority of Akal Takht Sahib would not be tolerated.
Majithia further stated that those who challenge the authority and sanctity of Sri Akal Takht Sahib would never be forgiven by the Sikh community. He urged the authorities to ensure complete transparency in the handling of the forensic investigation and related proceedings.
The allegations come amid an ongoing controversy surrounding the disputed video and the forensic reports linked to its authenticity. No official response from the Punjab Government or Punjab Police had been issued on Majithia’s latest claims at the time of reporting.
