Jalandhar: Punjabi Sufi singer and former BJP MP Hans Raj Hans on Wednesday came out in support of actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh amid the ongoing controversy over his film Sardaar Ji-3, which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.
Speaking at a press conference held at his residence in Jalandhar, Hans said that when Sardaar Ji-3 was made, no one could have anticipated the current situation between India and Pakistan. He said it was wrong to oppose Diljit’s film in such circumstances.
“Diljit and the producers of the film are very nice and humble people. No fanaticism should be spread in the country,” Hans said.
The film has faced criticism from some quarters over the inclusion of a Pakistani actress amid strained relations between the two countries. However, Hans Raj Hans urged people not to mix art with politics, calling for calm and understanding.
