Chandigarh: Pathankot Police on Monday late night arrested three more accused from Gurdaspur in connection with the case related to sharing confidential information of the Indian Army and paramilitary forces through CCTV systems.
Among those arrested is Hardeep Singh, the real brother of already arrested main accused Baljit Singh alias Beetu.
Police said the accused were allegedly in contact with anti-national elements and Pakistan-based ISI handlers. Hardeep Singh is accused of hiding the mobile phone of the main accused and attempting to help him evade police action. However, investigators later traced and arrested him as well.
Two other accused, both residents of Gurdaspur, have also been taken into custody. With the latest arrests, the total number of accused arrested in the case has reached five. One accused is still absconding, while two others are already lodged in jail in connection with the matter.
Police are continuing further investigation into the suspected espionage and information-sharing network.
